The project endeavors to apply the recent advances in atmospheric sciences to economics and society using novel educational tools. This ambitious aim is only achievable by a consortium with strong mutually reinforcing expertise of partners. The University of Helsinki (FI) is the Coordinator, having produced most of the research results behind the project. Two specialised hydrometeorological universities – Odessa State Environmental University (UA) and Russian State Hydrometeorological University (RU) provide a needed focus on weather, air quality and climate. Two classical universities – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (UA) and Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (RU) ensure multidisciplinarity and technical capacity. Participation of two respected agricultural universities – Kherson State Agricultural University (UA) and Agricultural University – Plovdiv (BG) is essential due to agriculture being the most important weather-sensitive sector of economy. Advanced Training Institute (RU) is involved to make an influence in the community of hydrometeorology professionals. The University of Central Europe in Skalica (SK) brings in its extensive expertise in environmental management and modern educational technologies.
